Mediation

Welcome to our mediation services

We can help you

  • Become a mediator
  • Get a mediator’s help

Mediation is third-party intervention in conflict. The third party has the goal of helping the sides reach an agreement that solves the conflict effectively.

Join our Mediation Seminar to learn how to help others in dealing with conflict. Mediators are third parties that are impartial and neutral about the conflict they are helping to solve. Mediators do not prefer or favor one side over the other and mediators do not decide which agreement is best for the parties.  A mediator helps the parties to negotiate and reach the agreement they want.

A mediator is not a judge or an arbiter – a mediator does not make a ruling. He or she does not decide on behalf or the parties.

Do you need a mediator? If you need a mediator to help with a bitter dispute or protracted conflict, please use our contact form or send us an email with a general explanation of the problem (at this stage you do not have to be specific about the parties’ identity). We will contact you  ASAP to get the mediation and conflict resolution process running.

Become a mediator

The Foundations of Mediation Seminar

To be a mediator means knowing to diagnose the conflict and the interests at stake, having the communication skill to deal effectively with both sides when emotions are high, and knowing the procedures to build a “bridge” between the parties, so that they can reach an agreement. A mediator helps the fighting sides cool down, reveal their motives and interests, and communicate and work towards a mutually acceptable resolution. Orlando School of Negotiation provides 3-day mediation trainings few times a year. Our next mediation seminar will be June 10-12, 2013. The cost of attending the 3 days (24 hours+) The Foundations of Mediation Seminar is US$500.  If you would like to learn more about or training sessions, future dates and venues, please send us a message using our contact form or via email to contact@orlandoschoolofnegotiation.com
